What You Can Expect

He/she and his/her team of direct reports is responsible for providing guidance and support to all EMEA markets on the assigned product portfolio, its positioning communication and pricing, and provides guidance to a team of dedicated regional and local marketing and sales managers overseeing the preparation, implementation, execution and review of sales, marketing and promotional programs in accordance with global strategic objectives and earnings targets.

The function also acts as a prime contact person for selected key accounts and organizations and facilitates and drives the discussion and communication on regional or local needs with the headquarters.

How You Create Impact
  • Executes regional portfolio strategies to meet strategic and global objectives and to support the global brand messages
  • Executes and provides input and direction to the global portfolio strategies to reflect the local and regional needs and forms part of the annual and 3- to 5-year strategic planning processes
  • Provides consolidated input on regional needs for financial planning, future product development and communication requirements and access pathways and works closely with global and regional finance, medical education, regulatory and clinical functions to drive the regional strategy and ensures clear and objective communication to all stake-holder and buy-in and execution from the various markets
  • Gains intimate understanding of market dynamics and all factors that influence performance in business, so that can analyze existing business according to various segmentations, can understand win/loss data, and can integrate data from all EMEA countries into a cohesive, executable plan and develops a strategic plan for the portfolios that allows effective and coherent strategies in all markets (exit, launch and maintenance)
  • Coordinates the monitoring of competitive activity and presents key actions to gain momentum
  • Establishes, leverages and maintains a diverse range of key relationships internally within the cooperation as well as externally with key opinion leaders, customers, and trade organization or government bodies (e.g. MOH) to recognize and influence future trend in the industry and new market opportunities as well as being the prime contact person for selected key accounts
  • Provides strategic input to the training and education of new and existing products for surgeons and sales functions and supports their execution
  • Closely interacts with forecasting and supply chain to support tenders and monitors inventory levels of existing and newly launched products
  • People Management: Builds an effective and cohesive team of marketing manager/s leveraging key strengths of each individual by focusing on talent management, recruitment, development and retention.
What Will Make You Stand Out
  • University degree or equivalent academic education in marketing or technical/natural/engineering sciences (Masters preferred)
  • Excellent understanding of the medical device industry and market environment with more than 10 years of sales and/or product management experience in the healthcare sector
  • Proven leadership skills with a minimum 5 to 8 years in a people management capacity
  • Strategic, analytic and result orientated while able to demonstrate a strong ‘hands-on’ and ‘can-do’ attitude in problem solving
  • Dedicated team player with authentic leadership capabilities who convinces by ‘walk the talk’
  • Strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to deliver sales, profit and market share goals and developing and implementing innovative marketing and sales strategies
  • Sound problem identification and solving skills with the ability to create a clear action plan going forward
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a large matrix organization and within cross-functional teams
  • Dynamic and balanced personality with strong social competencies and experiences in guiding cross-functional and cross-cultural teams
  • Strong and effective communication and sound interpersonal and negotiations skills in English
  • Good interpersonal skills, persuasiveness, diplomatic flair and negotiation skills and the ability to motivate and engage counterparts and realign diverting opinions and needs
