Team Leader AML/KYC [Luxembourg]

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Takes responsibility for the management and sustainable performance of the team: assigning tasks and responsibilities, monitoring day-to-day service delivery, and performing KPI measurement of the BCO Team division for Jurisdictions based in Luxembourg, Malta and Monaco;
  • Liaises with the second line of defence (Risk and Compliance, or ‘R&C’);
  • Provides leadership and guidance to the team members, including assisting with technical problem resolution, conflict management, and development;
  • Application of agreed procedures formulated to ensure the Business meets its AML/CFT/KYC/KYT obligations on an on-going basis, across a diverse range of client files and activities.
  • Provides guidance to team members on the collation and review of new and existing client KYC/CDD during the establishment of new structures and advise on the reporting of beneficial ownership information, reviewing cases through NBAC, client take on, via for example, Business Central and other systems processes
  • Assists the Executive Team in the clearing of any internal audit, compliance and other tracked queries and assisting with any remediation work required
  • Records breaches, complaints and incidents, changes to PEP status and assist in maintaining the relevant registers, providing support to the Executive Team to manage/remediate such breaches, complaints and incidents
  • Produces timely management information and board reports for board meetings
  • Provides system support and input in respect of sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, Riskscreen and internet searches in liaison with R&C and prepare reports for the Executive Team and committees
  • Oversees the gathering of relevant documentation and risk assessments obtained during client on-boarding processes, assessing the adequacy and completeness of such in conjunction with agreed procedures.
  • Carries out adverse media, sanctions and PEP list screening procedures and issuance of associated internal reports.
  • Carries out functions required in the maintenance and/or oversight of client databases, the identification, collation and maintenance of relevant documentation, the review of transactional client activity and managing a programme of on-going monitoring of such records.
  • Is responsible for the daily screenings of the portfolio.
  • Processes requests for AML comfort letters or eligible introducer forms on behalf of clients to various parties.
  • Assists with client operational due diligence queries and visits.
  • Collates data to assist submission of the Questionnaire on Financial Crime (or equivalent), and other competent authority requirements, liaising with Compliance to ensure timely submission of data returns
  • Projects manage/undertake assigned remediation and other project work as directed, for the Family Office
  • Acts as gatekeeper in respect of any marketing material, supporting the Executive Team to ensure any marketing material is logged in the register, and with approval from second line of defence, complies with relevant legislation and regulation;
  • Attends bi-weekly R&C meetings and BCO group meetings where requested;
  • Any other relevant duties that may be identified.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Have a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience within a regulated professional/financial service environment.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in Team management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Luxembourg administration and of the Luxembourg regulatory regime (knowledge of Malta and Monaco regulatory is an asset) with the ability fully to understand the risk and process implications for the business.
  • Previous exposure to international data protection and privacy laws and regulations.
  • Recognised diploma in Law, Economics or other relevant financial services qualification preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of Luxembourg AML/CFT law and regulations as well as Luxembourg company law (Holding and Finance vehicles).
